## What happens when you stop paying

On Bitly, dynamic QR codes and the links behind them live inside an active subscription. If you downgrade or cancel, the editable QR codes you printed can stop resolving — and because Bitly meters links and clicks by plan, even staying subscribed can mean bumping into limits as you scale.

QRever doesn’t meter anything and doesn’t bill again. You pay once per code, there are no scan limits, and a paid code is never deactivated for billing. Every paid code includes a one-click export, every dynamic code a Static Fallback Generator, and if QRever ever closed, every active paid code would keep working for at least 5 years — so your destination is portable and survives without us.

## The pay-once market

Subscriptions are not the only thing QRever competes with. A small pay-once market exists, and it is the fairer comparison — those products make the same promise QRever does, so the question stops being “rent or buy” and becomes “which one to buy”.

On price alone, a plain redirect code is cheaper elsewhere. OwnQR charges $15 for one code and $39 for five, less than QRever at any quantity, and QRCD’s $69 buys unlimited codes, which undercuts QRever from five codes up. Both sell redirects only. If the code just needs to point at a website you already run, either costs less; QRever earns its price when the code needs a page of its own, which neither of them hosts.

Choose Bitly if link management is your real job and QR codes are a side feature you’re happy to rent. Choose QRever if QR codes are the point — printed on physical things that need to keep working for a single payment, with no limits and no expiry.
