Beaconstac — now rebranded as Uniqode — is an enterprise-grade QR platform with bulk creation, an API, team management, retail and GS1 features, and serious support. If you’re a large organisation that needs all of that and has procurement to handle an annual contract, it’s a comprehensive choice.

Most people printing a QR code are not that organisation. They want a code on a menu, a card, or a product that simply keeps working — without seats, tiers, or a subscription. QRever gives them editable, trackable codes and hosted QR Pages for a single payment, never deactivated.

What the rest of the pay-once market charges

Subscriptions are not the only thing QRever competes with. A small pay-once market exists, and it is the fairer comparison — those products make the same promise QRever does, so the question stops being “rent or buy” and becomes “which one to buy”.

QRever is not the cheapest way in. One permanent dynamic code costs $19 here, against $15 at OwnQR — and $150 at Scanova, the most expensive.

Where QRever is the cheapest is the page behind the code. A QRever QR Page — a menu, business card, links, event or reviews page, hosted and editable — costs $39 once. Of the other products here, only Lifetime QR Codes and Permanent QR Codes host a page behind a code, from $49.

The catch

What happens when you stop paying

Beaconstac’s codes live inside a subscription, often an annual one tied to seats or code counts. When a contract isn’t renewed — a budget cut, a tool consolidation, a team change — the dynamic codes the company printed stop resolving. At enterprise scale, that can mean thousands of dead codes in the field at once.

QRever’s model avoids that single point of failure. Each code is bought outright and is never deactivated for billing. Every paid code carries a one-click export and every dynamic code a Static Fallback Generator, and if QRever ever closed, every active paid code would keep working for at least 5 years — so the destination is portable and survives independently of us.
